Roundtable is open to all adults involved with Scouts BSA, Cub Scout, and Venturing programs. Registered Troop, Pack, and Crew leaders are especially encouraged to attend. Each month, the program revolves around a highlighted program topic.

Roundtable provides a forum for adults involved as leaders to:
  • Discuss topics of interest, both formally and informally
  • Learn about upcoming District and Council events and programs
  • Meet and exchanges ideas with other leaders from the Rowan District

Roundtable is held 7:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the
St. John's Scout Office, 201-B West Council Street Salisbury, NC 28144.

Good evening Sapona District Committee Members:

Please plan to attend the Sapona District Committee Meeting this coming Tuesday, 11/13/2018 at 5:30 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury (home of the District Scout Office and Roundtables).

In addition to our monthly District Committee Reports and Agenda Items, this meeting serves as our Sapona District Annual Business Meeting in which District Officers and Committee Members at Large are elected and assume office immediately.  During the District Annual Business Meeting, our District will also vote our recommendation for the Council Executive Board to reappoint our District Commissioner.

An agenda is attached.  Please review the agenda and be prepared to report upon your individual areas of responsibility.  Due to the extra time needed for the Annual Business Meeting, I would respectfully ask your reports be concise.

It is recharter time for our District Committee Members.  If your primary registration is as a District Committee Officer, Committee Member at Large, Commissioner or as a Merit Badge Counselor, please bring your $40 Adult Registration fee for 2019 with you to the 11/13/2018 District Committee Meeting.  There are several District Committee members who have not yet taken the current version of Youth Protection Training.  This is a National Requirement for all Adult Scouters before they can be registered for 2019 by the Council.  There are no waivers or exceptions.

Please note that the December District Committee Meeting and Roundtable will be one week earlier than normal, 12/4/2018, so your District Committee Chair and those District Committee Members who are also Central NC Council Executive Committee Members can attend the Council Board Meeting on the 2nd Tuesday.

It has been a distinct honor and privilege to have served as Sapona District Committee Chair for the past two years.  I thank each of you for all your dedicated efforts to provide the very best Scouting program possible to the youth of Rowan County.  Your knowledge, wisdom and dedication are inspirations to me and to all those whom you are truly servant leaders.

I would ask your continued support of Scouting in the Sapona District and wish each of you continued blessings as your continue your journey on the Scouting trail.

Yours in Scouting,

Joe Gettys
Sapona District Committee Chair
